AND YOU WONDER WHY I'M A CERTIFIED CRAZY CAT LADY?! 😜
“Indy” was written for my cat Indy, who — at least according to his website — was an international cat of mystery and crime 😹

Yes, he really had his own website back then. I even made him a wanted poster.

At some point while writing the song, I decided it wasn’t enough for Indy to simply inspire the track… he needed to actually appear on it. So I followed him around with a microphone recording his meows and purrs, which ended up making their way into the final version of the song forevermore.

Years later, I revisited the idea and rewrote the song into “I Love My Pussycat” for my album That’s What She Said. Since Indy had sadly passed away by then, his sister Pumpkin stepped in to provide the purrs and meows for the newer version 😸

To this day, neither cat has received proper publishing royalties for their vocal contributions. They were, however, generously compensated in catnip and love.
