Ali Handal: Music & Video
Arms of a Stranger
(Ali Handal)
she sneaks in through her own front door
tip toe to lead him to her floor
her one request he understands
the unfamiliar touch of his hands
she’s losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
usin’ her body to hide from the danger
losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger…again
the moon has made another round
a face that’s new to her is found
she names her time he names his place
they disappear in their embrace
she’s losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
usin’ her body to hide from the danger
losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger…again
(spoken) but soon the novelty wears thin
and she dismisses him to lure the next one in
she’s losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
usin’ her body to hide from the danger
losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
she’s losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
usin’ her body to hide from the danger
losin’ herself in the arms of a stranger
STORY BEHIND THE SONG:
My inspiration for this song was an old roommate of mine. She was a beautiful, intelligent girl who was always bringing home different guys who ended up making her miserable.
The lyrics don’t exactly reflect her story, but I do think of her when I sing this song.
