Tie Me Up

(Ali Handal)
well I thought I’d kicked the habit the last time you left town but now you’re back temptation’s gonna try to drag me down

you strut your stuff in front of me to sell your merchandise and it’s takin’ all the strength I can muster up to keep myself from buyin’

but I’ve been down that road too many times and your body is the best drug that I know though it’s time for me to go clean and you don’t love me oh

pin me down, fill me up, I need just a little taste of another dose from your cup, let me breathe you in, I’ll blow your mind and I promise I’ll quit usin’ you tomorrow

well last night was the last time I let your liquor lick me and your poison needle stick me and I feel the rush of you into my veins

don’t lead me into that garden once again my friend

‘cause we’ve been down that road too many times and you’re cravin’ me as much as I dig you, though it’s time for you to go home and you don’t love me oh

tie me up, hold me down, I gotta get a bit of that stuff you got all around you let me take you in, I’ll turn you out and I promise I’ll quit usin’ you tomorrow, and I swear I’ll quit usin’ you tomorrow

each night I need you more I can’t help but make the score I’m hooked and I can’t set myself free, but I can’t take the shakes each time that I come down, I need my fix and it’s getting’ hard to breathe

well I know that you’re no good for me but what’s good for me don’t feel as good as you, though it’s time for me to let go, I just can’t say no

pick me up, throw me down, I wanna feel your body all over me on the ground, lemme break you in, I’ll wear you out and I promise I’ll quit usin’ you tomorrow, and I swear I’ll quit usin’ you tomorrow

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:
“I wrote Tie Me Up after a particularly frustrating visit from an old flame of mine.

The last time I had seen him, I had fallen hard for him, and I knew that I couldn’t ever hook up with him again if I wanted to keep myself together. So, we had a restrained, polite visit, and I came home and imagined what it would have been like if I’d had my way with him.”
